Unforgettable Mittens Pattern

 

 

 

How amazing are these mittens.  Now you can make your very own set to.

 

 

Size - Preteen to small adult

 

What you need:

Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable yarn (Colorway of your choice) or Caron simply Soft

About 200 yards

Scissors

Yarn needle

5mm / H crochet hook

 

Stitches:

SC - Single Crochet             CH - Chain

DC - Double Crochet           HDC - Half Double Crochet

BLO - Back Loop Only       SL ST - Slip Stitch

RPT - Repeat                       RW - Row

RND - Round 

 

Left Mitten

 

CH 11

RW 1 - SC into 2nd CH from hook and all across, turn (10 SC)

RW 2 - *CH 1, SC in BLO of 2nd CH from hook and all across, turn (10 SC) 

RW 3-32 - *RPT RW 2

Fold cuff in half and SL ST ends together all across ( see Pic below)

Don't cut yarn, flip band so seam is on the inside.

 

 

 

RND 1 - CH 2, DC 31 evenly around the cuff, SL ST to top of CH 2 (32 DC including CH 2)

RND 2 - *CH 2, HDC in the next 31 ST, SL ST to top of CH 2 (32 HDC including CH 2)

RND 3-5 - * RPT RND 2

RND 6 - CH 2, 2 HDC in next ST, 1 HDC in the next 29 ST, 2 HDC in the next ST, SL ST into top   of CH 2 (34 HDC including CH 2) 

RND 7 - CH 2, 2 HDC in the next ST, 1 HDC in the next 31 ST, 2 HDC in the next ST, SL ST into the top of CH 2 (36 HDC including CH 2)

RND 8-9 - *RPT RND 2 (36 HDC including CH 2)

RND 10 - CH 2, HDC in the next 9 ST, CH 6, skip the next 8 ST and HDC into the 9th ST, HDC into the next 17 ST, SL ST to top of CH 2 (34 HDC including CH 2) See Pic below 



 

 

 

RND 11 - *CH 2, HDC all around, SL ST to top of CH 2 (34 HDC including CH 2)

RND 12-27 - *RPT RND 11

SL ST into the next ST, cut yarn with about a 10 inch tail, pull tail through SL ST.

Thread yarn needle with the tail and turn your mitten inside out.  Weave back and forth through loops at the top of mitten all around.  Pull tight to close the opening, tie off and weave yarn in a few times before cutting.

 

Thumb 

 

Make sure you are working on the outside so seam is on the inside of the cuff.

 

RND 1 - Attach yarn and CH 2, HDC 17 evenly around the thumb hole, SL ST to top of CH 2 (18 HDC including CH 2) see pic below

RND 2 - *CH 2, HDC in the next 17 ST, SL ST to top of CH 2 (18 HDC including CH 2)

RND 3-10 - * RPT RND 2

SL ST into the next ST, cut yarn with about a 10 inch tail, pull tail through SL ST.  Thread yarn needle with the tail and turn your mitten inside out.  Weave back and forth through loops at the top of the thumb and all around.  Pull tight to close the opening, tie off and weave yarn in a few times before cutting.

 

 



 

 

Right Mitten

 

 

CH 11

RND 10 - CH 2, HDC in the next 20 ST, CH 6, skip the next 8 ST and HDC into the 9th ST, HDC into the next 6 ST, SL ST to top of CH 2 (34 HDC including CH 2)

RND 11 - *CH 2, HDC all around, SL ST to top of CH 2 (34 HDC including CH 2)

RND 12-27 - *RPT RND 11

Dream Big and Create

Do you crochet? Do you do it beacuse you love it or is it your way of making an income? I crochet and I do it for the love of the art of creating.  I'll be honest, I make some money, not enough to quit my day job.  Yet!  I have dreams that one day I will be able to spend my whole day just creating and crocheting away. 
When i started on this journey a little over a year ago the only thing I wanted to do was learn to crochet a sock monkey hat for our newest addition.  That was it.  I tell you social media has power, more power than I thought was possible.  I went from sharing my first ever creation to selling my first item within a month.  I didn't have a crochet page on facebook or a blog.  I just wanted to share my new skill with my friends and family.  I was so proud of what I had learned. The second I picked up that crochet hook, I was hooked.  It came so naturally to me I didn't want to stop.  A few short months after I learned to crochet I decided to start a page on Facebook.  Not to sell my items, just to showoff my work.  I thought a least this way family and friends on Facebook wouldn't be bombarded with my creations unless they wanted to see them.  Well before i knew it i was completely booked up with orders from sept till march.  I have found my true passion, yarn and a hook it just inspires me to create.  In the last few months i have dipped my toes into the designing world, desining new pieces and writting patterns.  I truley love it.  Its so much work but seeing others create and love my patterns drives me to want to create more.  Wow, it has been a crazy year.  I step back now and take a look at all that I have accomplished in the span of 1 short year and I have no words.  No words for the endless support of family and friends, other crochet artists and pages out there that continue to support me in what I do.  

Teez Winter Wonder

Wow,  I just can't believe it.  I have grown so much in the last year.  I started to crochet maybe a year ago.  I have been so crazy busy with orders that I haven't had time to stop and and appreciate how much I have grown and how far I have come.  I never imagined I would venture into starting a small business.  I am so grateful to all that follow my work and all the amazing support I have receieved on this journey.  I'm so excited to share with you all one of my very own creations.  The Teez Winter Wonder pattern has been released.  My heart went into learning to write patterns and I spent every moment I could trying to ensure this pattern was as perfect as I could get it.  I never thought much of writing patters when I started on this journey.  I truly never knew how much work it would be.  I have learned so very much over the last few months.  Thank you everyone who encouraged me to write this pattern.  I am hoping to publish a few more patterns this year.  So if you love my work be sure to continue to follow me!  Here is the link where you can find my pattern http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/accessory/teez-winter-wonder/126706
